Bury Model Boat Club
Whether you sail scale, sail, steam, or fast electric models, you’ll find a great community, regular meet ups, and plenty of time on the water.
Where we are
Off the A56 Walmersley Road — take Royal Avenue → Milner Avenue → car park. Postcode BL9 6NG.
When we’re open
Clubhouse open 8am - 5pm Sundays & Wednesdays (plus additional sessions for yachting on Tuesdays & Fridays 8am- 1pm).
What you can run
We run scale, sail, steam and fast electric models. Boats with i/c motors are not permitted.

If you’re new to the hobby (or just new to the club), you’re very welcome to come down, see what we do, and have a chat with members.
Facilities: refreshments, toilets, and wheelchair/disabled-friendly access.
Something for every type of modeller
From relaxed sailing to lively fast electric runs, we cover a wide mix of model boating — including steam-powered models.
We also have active Club 500 and SR65 sections and regularly hold races between March and October.
Membership
New visitors are welcome to try the facilities free several times, then we’ll invite you to join.
